Brief notes from the live session:
We are already the unconditional peace, love and ease we are searching for. It’s only ever our inner disturbances and confusion, that block us from knowing/experiencing this. We’ve learnt to turn outwards, searching for it, out there, in conditional objects, situations and people, which is highly inconsistant, dissapointing and uncertain. Through Inquiry + Alchemy, we can start to turn inwards and to welcome, dissolve and remind our inner energies of what they truly are, so that all can come home to a happy, peaceful and aligned sense of Being.
Current call on planet to start tuning into what we want (rather than the problems/what we don’t want). The mind is an outdated alarm bell, focusing on the problems to keep us safe. But this keeps us small and limited, due the reversed real cause and effect, focusing on the negative is a disasterous way to live and perpetuates the problems and creates more.
Asking what it is that we want (other than just transmuting energies) out of a situation, can help to reorient our creating to something more positive. Dreaming/conjuring up/playing out in our mind, what is it that we would actually like in that situation? Feeling good, lit up, being well treated. Basically for all of us, happy and peaceful in different ways!
Using Pivots to find out what it is we want: Take what it is that you don’t want, get clear on that first. Then work out what the opposite might be? If there’s pressure, what would freedom feel like and play out for you? If there’s disrespect from someone, how would it feel and look like to feel worthy, loved and respected in that situation or in general. The main goal is to evoke these positive emotional energies in our bodies.
If we’re feeling more open, vibrationally risen and more connected to stillness, we can transmute our energies more easily, more space for it all to move. Coming into our body, touching into stillness and the positive creative visualisation (as mentioned above) and expanding with light, can aid this.
Sitting with the energies of our desires can help to clarify them so that the manifestion turns out to be more aligned and beneficial, fulfilling.
Remember: It’s not the thing out there causing our pain inside, it’s our pain inside which is creating the issue on the outside. When we transmute our inner pain, the outer situation can’t help but shift also.
The practice so far: Getting to know Stillness, the attitudinal changes and listening for and questioning the beliefs behind the pain, inquiring into their reality.
Here are some examples of core beliefs behind our main emotions (influenced by my current teacher’s Helen Hamilton’s sharings):
Anger: I can’t get what I want.
Sadness: I don’t have what I want.
Grief: I’ve lost what I want.
Guilt: I don’t deserve what I want, I’m not good enough.
Fear: I’m not safe.
Jealousy: Someone else has what I want and so I can’t have it.
Shame: I don’t deserve to exist and I don’t deserve happiness.
Apathy: There is no point wanting anything anymore because it never comes to me. I am powerless to get what I want and there is no way to change it.
Frustration: What I want is taking too long to come, why isn't it here yet?
Irritation: It is too difficult to get what I want and be happy.
Shoulds and shouldn’ts, painful wants and needs, fear of losing something or not getting what we want, resisting how reality is showing up or might show up, are all the underpinnings of the ego.
We are the stillness, the silence, before thought, before any creations and mind movements.
Surrender (very akin to acceptance/allowance) is fully feeling the emotion, energies. Letting it fully live it’s life in your body, letting it take over completely by releasing all resistance to it. This has it’s place and also comes with a cautionary note to those with trauma. We have a human nervous system after all. It takes a little time to work out what and when and how to sit with things. Sometimes a comedy, bath and a cookie are just what’s needed! Time, patience and many mistakes :)
It’s a thin line to know and learn when to push on through to the other side of transmuting a big emotion. It’s hard to know what is mind doing it’s usual ‘I’m going to die, it’s too much, it’s hopeless’ etc and when it really is just better to give yourself a break and have a rest to bring your vibe up first in whichever way… practice makes perfect. Always welcome to bounce this off me!
Self judgement will contract you energetically and shut all awareness down. If that’s running for you, perhaps best to go take care of that in your practice first.
COMPASSION + LOVE:
We spend a long time learning to identify as babies with our bodies, names, gender etc. So we must spend an equal amount of time to purposely notice our own spacious, silent awareness again.
In this practice we are reprogramming ourselves towards openess, compassion and love.
Conditioned, contracted energies are like little babies, so tired but cannot self-soothe and find rest by themselves. They need our help to let go and to heal.
They are inherently love and peace but long ago they contracted in order to protect us from harm and became stuck. They need us to remind them, to help them to open and transmute.
This can be overwhelming for us! So much can come at once. So we practice and learn to be compassionate and loving with ourselves, with them and give ourselves healthy distractions when needed. No need to be martyrs!
So for the last part of this practice:
Compassion and Love, we’re accepting them, acknowledging them, sitting gently with them, asking them Qs, bringing in light for them, agreeing with them, saying the ho’oponopono: I’m so sorry, I love you, please forgive me, thank you. There there, I’m here, yes, yes, yes.
Sit with the conditioned energy softly, respectfully. Super-impose an image over the energy, of something innocent that doesn’t triggeryou, a child or baby animal etc. See it as though it’s this innocent being having the emotion, carrying this energy instead of you and repeat the above steps and the attitudinal changes. This is to release all resistance to more ancient, stuck and stubborn energies but can be tried on anything we’re having a hard time with. It ramps up the compassion and love!
Stay curious and in the ‘I don’t know mind’. We don’t really know where these energies come from or why. What are they really?
Don’t stress about picking up other peoples’ energy in everyday life. If it’s there, it’s there, no need to add more stress to your day. You’re a mystic, just tune in and get to work :)
A little reminder: “I’m not safe, I’m not worthy/good enough and I can’t get what I want” are behind most chronic issues. They become our normal background feeling and can be hard to see, they feel like ‘us’. Have a look in your reality to see if they are showing up in your work, finances, relationships etc. Feel into them, what do they feel like in your awareness, listen to what they are saying and take them into your practice.
